Memory Brooches
Do you remember your dreams upon waking?
What is the earliest memory you can recall?
No.1: Mild and stainless steel, enamel on copper shim, lampworked glass beads
No.2: Sterling silver, pearls, enamel on copper shim, steel pin
No.3: Enamelled copper, brass, bronze flashing, steel pin
This body of work explores memory and its destruction over time. Pieces are purposefully ambiguous for the viewer, to create links to their own memories and invite the possibility of recalling something once thought lost.
The collection utilises the iconography of the humble picture frame in a variety of materials and techniques, uniting the works with a neutral palette.
